Featured Artist Martha Sperling

Martha Sperling grew up in Bucks County. Trained in art history in Florence and Paris, she has painted since she was a child.  At the age of 12 she worked with the local watercolorist, Jean Burford in Churchville. She then studied with Paul Keene in figure painting and Alan Goldstein for abstract art at Bucks County Community College. Martha has studied plein air at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  Additional training with (amongst other) Christine LaFuente, Marge Kavooshian,  Miriam Warfield, Rachel Anthonisen, Kelly Sullivan, Jim Lukens, Betty Minnucci and Patrice DeVirgilis. A long time member of the Doylestown Art League, she has had paintings in Philips Mill, Ellarslie, The Philadelphia Sketch Club, Salmagundi, and other shows in New Hope, Lambertville, Stockton and Doylestown.  Martha enjoys the beauty of Solebury where she lives.
