Nana was a “working mom” before there was such a thing and therefore, of course a working grandmother. She was an administrative assistant for the US Department of Fisheries and Wildlife for twenty-five years, inspiring my love of wildlife and all animals as well as setting an example of a “pre-modern” working woman. This collection takes inspiration from childhood memories of my grandparent's lovely gardens and their parrot Loritta.
